Exotic
Gifts

The very word "exotic" has an appeal all of
it's own, don't you think? it conjures up images of far-away
places, where the language is different, the culture is strange and
everything is beautiful. This is what I think of when I imagine
an "exotic" gift. Something unusual, yes but
strange and beautiful at the same time.
These are some examples of copper and silver etched vases I
brought back from Turkey last year. They are 5 inches in height and
hand-painted of course.Strange and beautiful,no?
Exotic can mean simply foreign or unusual,or "not
native".
The items one may find in travelling are many and varied. From
the various rugs and kilims you see on our pages to textiles and
all sorts of hand crafted,one-of-a kind items.
Pay attention to the small shops that seem out of the way and to
what the local people may recommend, although take everything with a
generous grain of salt as many people have a stake in what they
feel you may buy .Remember you represent a foreigner with money
much of the time.
But if you pay close watch and take your time, you too can come
home with an "exotic gift" all your own!
